Carriers: Safety Tests & Guidelines
|
Safety standards for soft baby carriers have yet to be formulated by
authorities. To ensure safety for your child however,
we have conducted loading tests on the the baby
carrier
to
ensure that the baby carrier will hold up well when used.
Do
nevertheless exercise common sense and good
judgement when using
the baby carrier with your baby.
- Both
Rings & Carrier System sent for Maximum Load tests by PSB
-
Tested
to be a Non-Slip System (20kg weight over a 24-hour duration)
Please also read some Safety Guidelines below:
- The suggested ages of
your baby is only a guide. Do take note of your child's own
physical growth and developmental stage.
- Please
be aware that our baby carrier does not contain a safety belt or
harness. The baby carrier is also not a safety device on its own.
You are responsible for the safety of your child while he or
she is in the carrier.
- Always
inspect the carrier carefully before each use. Make sure the cloth is
in good shape, does not have holes, and that the stitching around the
rings is secure. With proper care, our slings should last for years and
through a few children. If there is any frays or loose stitching
, please return the baby carrier to us. We will repair it at no
extra cost.
- Have
an arm around your baby, when you feel it is needed for security.
Always support your baby while adjusting for fit. Keep supporting
your baby until the baby carrier is properly wrapped and
adjusted.
- In
any of the positions, the baby’s body should be encased by the
cloth, but his face should be not covered by carrier cloth, blankets,
or other additional clothing while in the baby carrier. (see photos
below).

|
- While
breastfeeding, do also be aware that baby's breastfeeding may be shaded
from public eye, but his face does not need to be closely covered by
any cloth or blanket. There should be airspace around the baby.

but there is airspace

around the baby. Cloth does not fully cover baby's face.
|
- For
the upright positions, always make sure the baby is securely inside,
and that the cloth does not slip up the baby's legs or back. If
you have not properly wrapped the the cloth around the baby's bottom
and knees, please do continue to hold onto your baby.

- If
your baby is very wriggly, please do keep your arms on him to restrain
him and hold him.
- The
baby carrier is not meant to be a car seat replacement. Never
drive or carry baby in the baby carrier while in a moving vehicle. Also
do not use it while cycling or rollerblading, or the
like.
- Suport your baby with your arms when
leaning or bending over.
- If you are wearing your child while
cooking, shopping, sweeping the floor or any other everyday activities,
please pay attention to things within your child's reach, such as
flames, hot objects, sharp objects and other dangerous items. Our cloth
is not flame-retardant. Be aware of what is within your baby’s
reach. (see photos below)
- Be cautious when
consuming hot food and drinks when baby is in the sling. (see photos
below)

While Cooking
|

At Dinner
|

While Eating
|
- Do
not tie any accessories or
toys to the tail of the baby carrier. Having such at this portion
of the sling
makes
it dangerous as there is the possiblity of the toys hitting at your
baby
when you adjust the carrier for the right size and when you
unthinkingly
use the tail for shielding during breastfeeding or from weather
conditions.
Guidelines outlined
above are non-exhaustive. You are reminded once
again to use common sense and judgement
regarding your
baby's safety while using the baby carrier.
Moms in Mind will not be responsible for accidents arising from
improper use of the
baby sarong carrier.
Your baby has the best safety standards of an alert,
loving wearer, which is you!
